The integration of private venture clinical program between OYESIS Global network and its world wide affiliates can be utilized as a spring board for collaborating with the the Bayelsa Government House a Hospital Complex it has been charged to manage. If the GHHC is effectively managed by the OYESIS team of experts, we can definitely make it a profitable for the administration as a public-private partnership. Indeed, we can market the Bayelsa GHHC as a beacon of Excellence in the entire nation, and surrounding West African countries. This will be in line with the Medical Tourism goals of the Bayelsan State Government.
Why is the OYESIS confident about the positive role it can play in creating fiscal responsibility with the Bayelsa Projects. This is in fact a by-product of extensive years of pragmatic experience managing both outpatient , diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in rural and urban communities in the USA. We have developed a well functioning, efficient model of operation that we are convinced can be translated to Nigeria using appropriate business modifications to ensue a successful transition. No doubt, citizens of the world when sick or ill all seek medical attention for restoration of health. This attention must be provided by well trained and competent healthcare professionals. The OYESIS has assembled a plethora of highly qualified, board certified professionals in all disciplines of of Medicine, Surgery, Nursing,and Technology to ensure the success of the Bayelsa Hospital project.
Needless to say, the Healthcare system in Nigeria is currently rated 108 out of 135 countries in the world. This should not come as a surprise to well meaning enthusiasts and proponents of a better healthcare system. The current system is plagued by under funding, inefficiency, and lack of structure to maximize its capacity and functionality. The physician Health care providers are inadequately paid and their expectations and performance consequently demonstrate serious apathy.
Why is it that Rural Community Hospitals in the USA function better than our most prestigious Medical Centre’s in Nigeria. The answer is obvious. Accountability, Competently trained staff and continued medical education, better infra- structure in the USA, dedicated staff to mission statement, and better and dependable power sources.
How can we change the a Healthcare system in Bayelsa to make it efficient? The State of Bayelsa has recognized the need to improve the Healthcare experience of its Citizens and Visitors. This can be seen in the financial investments in building numerous Hospital facilities throughout the State. Of equal importance is the availability of qualified and competent healthcare professionals to provided dependable and reliable services. This major challenge has been spear headed by the OYESIS Global Network, under the leadership of Dr. Herbert Emmanuel Preye Oye. A native Bayelsan from Sagbama with a 38 year college, medical, fellowship, and clinical practice experience in the USA. Dr. Oye has committed his time to develop the road map needed to transform the healthcare landscape in Bayelsa. To make this possible, the OYESIS entered into a formal agreement with the State of Bayelsa to train and rebrand its indigenous professionals using expatriates services. We believe that the fundamentals of Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Life Support will play vital roles in making our medical staff more knowledgeable and confident to manage urgent and emergent clinical situations that patients may face at any time in or out of the hospital settings.
An extensive and intensive 6 Day training program that was conducted in Yenagoa from February 10 to 15, 2017, will be used a stepping stone for the training of additional clinical trainings in person and via telemedicine connectivity to enhance the skills set of our medical and nursing staff. We will conduct weekly ward rounds and monthly grand rounds via telemedicine connectivity to promote the goals of our organization.
The newly built Stroke and cardiovascular Centers will play an integral part in the management of Strokes, Heart disease, and Peripheral disease with are causing significant morbidity and mortality in Nigeria and many sub-Saharan countries. We are looking forward to providing advanced services in these areas that will ensure improved patient survival and decreased morbidity and mortality. Furthermore, we strengthen the services in Obstetrics and Gynecology and will explore the need for in vitro fertilization as well as advanced pediatric care, including pediatric cardiac surgery with appropriate collaborative partners. Through our ENT collaboration with USA partners we will look at providing care for advanced head and neck surgeries for congenital diseases and cancers. Of great importance to the OYESIS, is the creation of advanced Emergency Medical Services in trauma care of patients and the ensuring of competence of the work staff.
We look forward to the transforming the healthcare system on Bayelsa by forging meaningful affiliations with like minded individuals or organizations. Our ultimate goal is to make Bayelsa the Medical Tourism destination for Nigerians and Non-Nigerians in in Africa.
